I truly don't see an end to the insurgency and agree with Rumsfeld.... maybe 12 years ? Are we prepared for that. Where is the money to come from. We have to face a reality here. The money? Or a combination of the two. Holy terror, literally. And if it's its either of those last two, you're going to have to go back in at some pooint and do it again. At greater cost. Take your choice. "We're not Nazis. We hate Nazis. Bush and/or the US gov't were not behind 911. CYBER and his "LET's intern all the Democrats" are nuts." Reply: I read all of the things posted and form my own opinions but admit I do have a hard time with conspiracy theories...What has transpired is bad enough. We don't need to add to the neurosis..and fear.. The conspiracy theorists are crazy. The "Let's kill all the Muslims" are nuts. Neither have thought through the implications of what they say. "Bush is not going to bring you a polce state." I don't think he recognizes that by classifying everything and preventing public access he is making things look suspicious... If there is nothing to hide.. be open. Answer questions to all reporters.... Be prepared for the unexpected and don't fear making a mistake on a reply. He gets himself so worked up that on TV the other day he said he wanted Palestine and Iraq to live peacefully. I think he intended to say Israel... Some justice to that. Also simplistic. It fails to recognize that by telling the American people what you're up to, you're also telling the enemy. I suggest you look at what FDR kept from you. The fact that we were reading Japanese codes was kept secret for decades after the end of WW2 because the same technology was being used on the Russians. THEY, not we, were not supposed to know the details. "A draft is a terrible idea. Men who will willingly do the job are better." But if we threw a war and no one came we would have to recruit... What choice is left... Suppose your enemies are the Communists? That's when that line originated. Think you'd like Mao? Stalin? Pol Pot? Cueacescu? OBL, according to one story, got his idea for fighting Americans and 911 because Reagan pulled out of Lebanon so quickly after a few American dead. "This isn't a police state. You prove it every day. And it won't be if we have anything to say about it. As a matter of fact, many of us disagree with the President, particularly when it comes to illegal immigration and deficit spending. Basically, agree. I don't see that you can fight a war without deficit spending, though." My hurt comes from when I think of all the things that that money could have benefited the American people here at home. That we are more important than rebuilding a Iraq...and though I know it has become our albatross to do so even though Bush says they have to do it. Their retort.. Establish a BUSH PLAN like the MARSHALL PLAN... This was the retort of the Prime Minister... Like what? A great success like The Great Society? Piblic Housing? The War on Drugs? How can we have a Bush plan when they tear apart what we build? The Marshall Plan worked because we were fighting an organized army and all its soldiers would lay down arms on orders to do so. That's not this situation.
