American Thinker: Jimmy Buffett, 'Growing Older But Not Up'

Until yesterday I hadn't thought about Jimmy Buffett in 10 or 12 years. In college I was a "Parrot Head" although I never embraced the lifestyle or the requisite drug use, I still had all of Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band's 8 tracks. As the years passed my musical tastes changed and 8 tracks went the way of shag carpet and leisure suits. The advent of CDs brought the re-release of the great music of my youth and I purchased all of my favorite Jimmy Buffett albums. Whoa! What was I thinking back then! Lucky for me I grew up.
According to ‘The Coconut Telegraph,' Jimmy Buffett, A.K.A. ‘God's Own Drunk' will be making ‘Landfall' next Sunday in Gulf Shores, Alabama, not far from ‘Biloxi.' The folks on the Gulf Coast are hoping and praying that some of the oil will be ‘Stranded On A Sandbar' as they are ‘Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season' and the ineptitude of the Obama regime's response. The locals were surprised when Buffet's ‘Volcano' spewed forth a few tired leftist Bush-blaming ‘Clichés' in defense of his ‘African Friend.'
Newsbusters caught Buffett doing some ‘Havana Daydreamin'' Tuesday as he placed the blame for the oil spill on the Bush administration and their alleged cronies in the oil industry, he went on to say.
"To me it was about eight years of bad policy before [Obama] got there that let this happen," said Buffett. "It was Dracula running the blood bank in terms of oil and leases."
The far left ‘Son of a Son of a Sailor' must have had a few too many ‘Boat Drinks' in ‘Margaritaville' before delivering his hard to port Obamaganda. The noted oil spill expert said "hell, I can't stick my finger in that hole." Rather than assist in the ‘Good Fight' to contain the spill, Buffett hit the ‘Fool Button' and explained that ‘It's My Job' and said.
"What I'm best at is two hours of escapism for people that have to go back and either live jobs that they don't like or whatever...it's that Mardi Gras mentality."
So while Buffett is occupied ‘Makin' Music For Money.' the people of the Gulf Coast are just trying to ‘Survive' and try to keep from winding up ‘In The Shelter.' The clean-up continues (in spite of the government) and Jimmy gets to put on his ‘White Sports Coat and a Pink Crustacean' and sing about how wonderful it is in the ‘Banana Republics' while chomping on a ‘Cheeseburger in Paradise.'
It should be noted that Buffett has been identified as a participant in ‘The Great Filling Station Hold Up' (reports that it was a BP station have not been confirmed), he remains ‘Incommunicado' about that heist as well as his role in the ‘Peanut Butter Conspiracy.'
For Buffett, ‘Life is Just a Tire Swing' as he enjoys a ‘Dreamsicle' and sips red whine from his ‘Tin Cup Chalice.' Jimmy, like all Obamazombies is ‘Growing Older But Not Up.
