Apollo Gold Corporation engages in the exploration, development, extraction, processing, refining, and production of gold, zinc, silver, lead, and other metals in the United States and Canada. The company, together with Elkhorn Tunnels, LLC, a 50% joint venture, operates the Montana Tunnels mine located in Jefferson County. It also holds interest in the Black Fox project near the Township of Matheson in the Province of Ontario, Canada; and concessions at the Huizopa exploration project located in the Sierra Madres in Chihuahua, Mexico. In addition, Apollo Gold owns an option agreement to acquire interest in the Diamond Hill mine covering approximately 2,590 acres of patented and unpatented claims in southeast of Helena, Montana.
