Hi Dale!

Glad to see things settling down around here. Nice series of intelligent posts by all. I agree with you on the 3gig deal. Bolsters near term sales of their flagship (savior) product at minimal cost. Seeing terrific promos on it - marketing as a 3Gig drive. Current PC connection flyer gives top billing - near front of catalog - full page promo! To anyone who missed the great NECX $229 deal on the Syjet, the current Publishing Perfection flyer advertises the Syjet internal versions at $249, with a big price drop notation. Wonder what's going on. They're selling cartridge 3-packs for $249.95. It's all on page 27. Their order# is 1-800-252-1911 or publishingperfection.com

Sold 2/3's of my SYQT position on Fri. Got 2-3/4. Probably go back in when (if) we go back to 2-1/4.

One final note about ZIP. I have a nagging feeling that the ZIP's biggest threat may come from an unlikely source. The precipitious drop in CD-recordables. Why store your "stuff" on a 100 meg magnetic media that costs $12+, when you can store 640 meg of it on a CD for a couple bucks (actually free after rebate at Egghead this week). And the CD will keep your "stuff" safe a lot longer than a magnetic media. The mechanisms are down near $300 now, and selling like crazy. Also beats the pants off ZIP in the interchangeability area. My guess is that there are a lot more than 7 million CD readers out there. I doubt that boot capability is much of an issue, although it is possible to burn a bootable CD. Just the musings of a madman, I guess.

Regards,

Joe
