I think 6210 will be the professional, high-end WAP model... and 7110 price will be crashed during the summer to lure in teenagers and mass market buyers. So the WAP product differentation has started. You have to hold the 6210 in your hand to grasp the point of the phone; it's the thinness combined with the lack of external antenna that really sets it apart. It's much more compact than 6110.... almost in the 8210 class, but not quite under 100 grams. It fits well in a shirt pocket, though. I checked it out and the demo guy almost called the security.

Somewhat surprisingly, Ericsson still had the stub antenna in all of its new WAP models. This is not very smart. Siemens has done a great job of stealing Nokia's design attributes - their WAP phone had the same internal antenna/ovoid build vibe as the 6210. It seems that Siemens has already pulled ahead of Ericsson in Europe and is set to consolidate their number three position this year.

The world phone seemed hot. Finally a decent miniature model for the US market: a sub-100 gram phone with voice dialing, predictive text input, internal antenna, blue-light display, voice dialing, chrome buttons and aluminum molding. GSM-900/1900 coverage... this should rock Voicestream subs. I watched the reactions of some Yanks pawing at the 8890 in stunned frenzy and comparing it to a godawful Audiovox lump they had dragged with them. It would have made for some compelling ad footage.
