After hearing how lax they were in their procedures, I lost sympathy. They had the worst history of safety violations of any company operating in the US. They were warned by companies they worked with regarding their procedures. According to Senate testimony, no other company would have followed the methods they used at Deepwater Horizon. Nope, zero sympathy for them. Then you add this back room dealing and what you say about scientists. Forget about it...
