A word of advice for Hood: make sure you have crampons and an ice axe. I was roped up and had an ice axe, but only two of us had crampons. I was scared to death I'd slip and drive the whole line down to Timberline. On Jefferson, we all had both, so it was much better.

Also, on your descent, trust your compass and don't follow the slope. You'll end up on Whitewater Glacier. It's hard to keep on course even if you can see the Lodge.
