*Datalink Corp., Edina, has revised its outlook for the fourth quarter ending Dec. 31. The company expects revenue to be $24 million to $26 million, with a loss of 12 to 15 cents per diluted share. Datalink reported revenue of $38.9 million and earnings of 6 cents per diluted share in the year-ago fourth quarter.
*Visionics Corp., Minnetonka, said the Department of Defense's Counterdrug Technology Development Program Office bought Visionics' scalable surveillance system, FaceIt ARGUS, and other technology.
*SpectraScience Inc., Plymouth, has retained Greene, Holcomb & Fisher to help the company review and evaluate strategic alternatives, including an investment in the company by a strategic partner or a potential sale.
*Ciprico Inc., Plymouth, has received certification from Veritas Software Corp. that signifies the completion of tests of the Ciprico NETarray RAID storage product operating with Veritas software.
*Solution Design Group, Eagan, a value-added reseller for Millbrook Corp., said Metropolitan Cardiology Consultants, Coon Rapids, has agreed to license Millbrook Practice software.
*Bioenergy Inc., a Minneapolis-based developer of pharmaceutical and nutritional applications for ribose, said its Bioenergy brand Ribose has gained "generally recognized as safe" status under rules of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Bioenergy Ribose is an energy-producing ingredient used by food and beverage manufacturers.
*Curative Health Services, St. Louis Park, said that eBioCare Ic., its specialty pharmacy business unit, has entered into a multiyear commitment with Baxter Healthcare Corp. to buy products used in the treating chronically ill patients.
*Rehabilicare Inc., New Brighton, announced the European launch of Compex Sport 400, its electromedical muscle stimulator. Sport 400 was designed and developed by the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Compex SA, and is sold to sports retailers in Italy.
*Minnesota Power, a unit of Duluth-based Allete Inc., has named named Don Shippar president and chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1. Shippar is executive vice president and chief operating officer.
*Pentair Inc., Roseville, said Roy Rueb, the company's vice president, treasurer and secretary, will retire effective Dec. 31. Rueb's responsibilities will be taken by Michael Meyer, formerly assistant treasurer, who has been named treasurer.
*The Chromaline Corp., Duluth, and Aicello N.A. have dropped their patent infringement lawsuit against Rayzist, which has dropped its counterclaims alleging that the two U.S. patents were invalid and unenforceable. No further action relating to those patents will be taken.
*The Minnesota Department of Revenue has revoked the sales tax permit of Fireside Coffee Inc., which operates coffee shops in Ham Lake, Burnsville and Anoka, for failing to file and pay state sales taxes. The department alleges that Fireside owes the state more than $49,200 in sales tax, penalty and interest and that the company has not filed sales tax returns.
*Media Productions Inc., a Minneapolis-based communications company, has changed its name to Stone Arch Creative.
*Alliant Techsystems, Hopkins, has been awarded a contract from BAE Systems, Austin, Texas, to develop and demonstrate solid-propellant insensitive munitions rocket motors for the Army.
*8th Continent, Minneapolis, a joint venture between General Mills Inc., Golden Valley, and Protein Technologies International, has become a partner of the 2002 Bancroft Arneson Explore activities. 8th Continent soy milk will be supplied to explorers Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen on their next expedition.
*PureChoice Inc., Lakeville, received the "notice of publication" from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office confirming the mark "You've Got Data" is entitled to registration in conjunction with its PureTrac air monitoring system.
