Moving up

*Carlson Hospitality Worldwide, Minnetonka, promoted
John Reynolds to vice president of human resources. Reynolds
was promoted from sister-company Carlson Marketing Group,
where he was vice president of project management.

On the move

*Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen, Minneapolis, named Aaron
Biber as chief operating officer. He is past president of the
Hennepin County Bar Association. Also, V. John Ella and
Steven Silton were named as shareholders.

*Best Buy Advertising, Eden Prairie, hired Mark Messing as
vice president of advertising strategy and business development,
and promoted Julie Owen to vice president of business
operations and integration from director of operations.
Messing had been general manager and senior vice president
for business development and integrated branding at the Bozell
Group's New York City office.

Directors

*The Koch Petroleum Group's Pine Bend Refinery,
Rosemount, named the following to its community advisory
council: Andrew Balgobin, Ed Gerten, Frank Knoll and
Greg Schuck.

*Richard Beens, an attorney with Felhaber Larson Fenlon
and Vogt, Minneapolis, has been appointed to the Lawyers
Professional Responsibility Board by the Minnesota Supreme
Court. Also, Karen Dyck has been named as marketing
director of the Felhaber firm; previously she operated a
consulting business.

*American Hotel & Lodging Association named Kirby
Payne, president of American Hospitality Management Co., as
chairman of the Washington, D.C.-based association.

Honors

*The International Association of Amusement Parks and
Attractions, Alexandria, Va., honored the following with its
annual Big "E" Entertainment Awards: Michelle
Steensland, of Bloomington, honorable mention for best
costumed character award, and Spooky World, Shakopee, for
best Web site, outdoor advertisements and best print
advertisements.

*Pulte Homes Inc., Eagan, was honored by Professional
Builder Magazine as 2002 Builder of the Year for outstanding
performance and its long-standing leadership role in the
residential construction industry.
