what do you mean, text book Greenblatt? He likes to buy the spun off company because it was usually neglected and thus cheap. Palm is hardly neglected, and not at all cheap. Nor is 3Com once you run the numbers. This is actually Greenblatt carried to an ABSURD exteme. It was manipulated by 3Com and its bankers to whip up a frenzy for scarce Palm shares, and in turn, put a PLAM sized halo over the 3Com stock price, which when all the dust settles, will likely head lower.
