Helloo Hawk Ron, <<But let's be real.. The N. Korean leadership has manufactured the US threat in order to underpin their authority amongst the brainwashed masses>>

Yes, being tagged as a spoke on the Axis of Evil is well remembered to be a figment of N.Korean leadership's imagination. It never happened :0)

So, let's be real, the US is at war with N.Korea and has been since 1952;0)

<<... the leadership knows that their real threat to their sovereignty is China, which has traditionally ruled and/or dominated the Korean peninsula>>

... you must have the Chinese confused for the Japanese or the Mongols, which is understandable, just as some would confuse unilateralism with security :0))

<<The fact that they have effectively erased all references to Chinese intervention and support for their regime is indicative of their agenda to downplay China's role in the founding of their regime>>

... Perfectly understandable, just as the N.Vietnamese makes no mention of China's contribution to their War of Independence and subsequent quagmire (reference "The Pentagon Papers"), as all is simply history, and all are moving on.

<<This is one of the reasons that N. Korea maintained friendly relations with both China and the USSR, effectively playing one off against the other>>

Wishful thinking from across the Pacific, as Russia and China are simply too astute for that old trick that other world powers fall for.

Russia and China humor the N.Koreans, as it keeps other world powers busy. Russia and China can keep their relationship with N.Korea as is for a long time, without change, because it doesn't cost much, and is so entertaining.

<<The only "disinterested" party would be the US, who is interested only in protecting its interests/ally in S. Korea, not in economically dominating the North>>

... wrong, and obviously so, because it was the US that put N.Korea in play, and now requires resolution, so as to prevent N.Korea manufactured stuff contributing to a pluristic world of quantum devices, a democracy of bomb-owners, so to speak, to forestall the undercutting of US ability to engage in unilateralism. The key words are 'WMD' and 'oil', and nothing else matters.

I do not think anyone is interested in economically dominating N.Korea except S.Korea. The Korean peninsula is a booby prize, much like the baby elephant and three years of feed on the "Let's Make a Deal" TV show.

Let's watch:0)

Chugs, Jay
