If you cant grasp in an intuitive reasonable way the truth of the reality of all this change , one can only say someone is just intentionally playing dumb for reasons that do not involve science? But something else entirely. As pointed out, the constantly changing envirionment ie: land sea & atmosphere that would effect new speciation thru natural selection are absolutely myriad given the the cycles of time & events the earth has undergone. You can pretend otherwise for the politics or the apologetics or supporting some fantasy story , thats not going to change the reality of the thing.
