Hi Gator and all,
Well, I'm sorry if I have caused so much doubt in my reason for not posting my evaluation of the open house early this morning. First of all let me dispell all thoughts that I am trying to surpress the price of SYD. Secound let me assure everyone that I am not loading up on the stock. Not saying that I won't buy more but not today. I said as much when asked last night by different folks.
So Gator, I will make two posts here today instead of tomorrow. As it turns out I am not going to work until late this afternoon. So what I will do is post the bad news here and the good news on the other post.
So here we go. Bad news:
The lite side:
1. They didn't have the beer that I drink. (Miller lite) If they did, they ran out before I got some.;-(
2. The women where all to young for me and had to much make-up on.;-(
The heavy side, (serious) stuff:
1. Talked with several potential customers including SAIC rep. Here is some of their responses and concerns.
A. I asked them what they thought of the product?
Their answer was that they thought it was great. No one had anything bad to say about it. THAT IS A PLUS in my book.
B. I asked them would you buy it?
Their answer after a little himming and hawwing was if the application could/would apply. This tells me that the company needs to tweek the program to make it more universal so that anyone can use it for any application, whether they have a customer base or just government public inquaries.
Like I said before, no one had anything bad to say about it.
2. Talked to the SAIC rep. at length. He volunteered that they where sponsoring the company and working a JV. I asked him, if the product is so good, how come you haven't signed a deal, he couldn't answer me. His reason was that he was new to the project. Promised me that he would get back with me. Have his business card so he can't run or hide.;-)
3. Talked to Mike and Marie, company reps.. Both where up beat. Asked about the Metro-call deal. I was told it was a done deal. Asked if they had a signed contract, the answer was no. Asked when would they have one, the answer was soon and as far as they where concerned it was bagged. I said to them, nothing is bagged until it is signed. Their response was that they feel Metro-call is committed and so are they. So that remains to be seen.
4. Talked to Mr. S. Asked him about the IBM deal. Nothing signed. Still working on it.
5. Now what seemed to be a common thread in all this is that even though folks like the product, the same response was, they haven't sold anything nor do they have any customers.
6. Did not talk to George but saw him. Didn't find it necessary to have an exchange although I did listen to some conversations that he had with interested parties.
To summerize the whole affair;
I think it went well. Lots of interest. That is a big plus but the company is not in this alone. There is competition in this field which I found out last night. What I will say is this. Everyone I felt was forthright and very honest. That is another BIG PLUS and I think everyone else got the same impression. With that on our side, I think something good will come out of last nights funtion.
I hope that this is informative but not negative. It is not intended to be. The reason I am making 2 post is that I don't want to mix the two thoughts or opinions. There are definiately some good things here and I will post it next.
Later,
Ron |
