SimonDelivers.com, the home grocery delivery service, is switching suppliers.
Eden Prairie-based Supervalu Inc. will begin supplying SimonDelivers.com Wednesday. Previously, the company worked with Edina-based Nash Finch Inc.
In the multi-year contract, Supervalu will serve as the exclusive grocery supplier for SimonDelivers.com, providing packaged goods such as cereals, canned goods and frozen foods, said Chuck Karpinske, chief financial officer at SimonDelivers.com. The company will continue to use a roster of about 50 smaller suppliers for produce and bakery items, cut-to-order meats, seafood, beer, wine and spirits.
New Hope-based Simon Delivers.com, which launched its home grocery delivery service nearly three years ago, now has 50,000 customers on its roster. Its vans deliver to about 90 percent of the seven-county metro area.
