Chas,

American fund managers take about two weeks vacation in Aug.
EU fund managers take one+ month vacation. That's why you see
lower volume in over all market especially around this time of
the year. It's seasonal. That's why the first week after Laborday
weekend hits record high in volume. It's similar to first two weeks
tech rally in Jan. However, this years's Laborday falls on 7th which
is way into 2nd week of Sep. So we might see one huge rally or 2 mid.
size split rally in two weeks.

I always wondered what causes these. My take is "Cash builds up while
they are gone for a vacation and fund managers have to park them
somewhere. Momentum stocks are easy target for them, imho."

later,
