Addi,

Fed Ex order - I think that you may be a little too optimistic about Sun's chances. It's true that Sun owns Java, but Java is still very immature not to mention that the Java Station was delayed because it was too slow (any change from before)? The other 4 contenders for the Fed Ex contract have been in the thin client terminal business as long as Sun so I don't believe that they are "North Dakota" made. In particular since I own both SUNW and NCDI, I know that NCD Incorporated is in the running. NCD has been in the X Terminal business for 15 years and are partnered with IBM to make the IBM Network Station. Watching the NCDI thread, Doug Klein the Chief Technical Officer, will respond to any technical questions about thin client architecture directly from SI. According to Mr. Klein, not many of their customers are demanding Java based terminals though it is in his opinion the way of the future. In the next few years, Java will definitely be a force as well as Microsoft.

Long on Sun.

P.S. Addi, I really enjoy your posts. Keep them coming :-)
