"There is no doubt that 9/11 was a direct result of Clinton's incompetence in dealing with the issue."

Uh huh. Sure. It was just a coincidence that 9/11 happened after the Bush administration started to dismantle the Clinton era anti-terrorism effort and focus it on agents of rogue nations. Which was his brand new world problem. I know you would like to forget this, because in retrospect it seems just as whacked out to everyone as it seemed to those who had a clue back then, but...

"but 9/11 was caused by Clinton's innumerable, repeated failures more than anything else."

Right. And Bush was successful, when? Is Osama rotting in prison? No.

"Had he gotten Osama -- at any one of several opportunities he passed on"

Yeah. If only Berger had given the go ahead at Tanaka Farms. Oh, wait. That didn't happen, did it?

"So, yeah, Clinton bears most of the responsibility, and this is the way I believe history will remember it -- Bush succeeded where Clinton failed miserably."

In television, this is know as "retconning". Or "retroactive continuity".

Clinton didn't succeed. But Bush hasn't either.
