I understand your points about some of the things that they have to say, but listen to the message the fool said. I don't have a problem if they disagree. In fact Marburgers reply was great. But pullleeaaasee!!! To suggest that scientific facts have no place shaping public policy is idiotic, stupid and dangerous. I hardly think what this guy said could be taken out of context any other way than to suggest that political agenda is just as important as scientific fact. Sounds like the days when we burned witches and books.

Also if you haven't read the text of their concerns, you should. I find it pretty easy to believe that one can find 20 nobelaureates who are kooks, but in this case they have some valid points. In isolated cases, sure sure, a lot of it is easy to dismiss and should be. But in sum and total it is impossible to deny that there is a pattern of political agenda and they would rather throw away good research on things like stem cells and let other countries leap ahead of us in science because their perceived moral agenda does not agree with basic science. It's stupid stupid stupid.
