Bob,

Its kind of a "mixed bag" of results. There were a few new lows, but many stocks just lost a big part of what they had gained late last week. Also, the semi-equips, in general, have not been hit so hard this year as many of the other technology type stocks.

Having said that, the SOX is getting close to a new low. Today it closed at 367.43 - that is the closing low for the year. It is also close to the closing low of the bottom set last September at 354.63 - that is only 3.5 percent away.

The computer technology index(XCI) closed at a new low today of 529.44, eclipsing the closing low of 553.64 set last September. Today's low was under the last September low by -4.4 percent. You have to go back to October 1998 to get a lower closing low.

The COMPQX closed today at 1403.80. That is lower than the closing low of last September set on 9/21 at 1423.19. It is lower than the lowest closing low set in October 1998 of 1419.12, set on 10/8/98. As a matter of fact, we have to go all the way back to 6/10/97 to find a lower closing low of 1401.69.

Tomorrow ought to be an interesting day!
