What you are talking about as seeing to be reasonable to you is what we have been conditioned to believe our whole lives. You've been lied to.

I'm just thinking out loud. I'm as opposed to taxes for me as much as anyone. Taxes on you guys are OK, but mine are already too high.

If you can explain how me putting $10,000 of my savings into IBM stock is better for the economy than the government taking it from me (crap! but I'll survive....) and giving it to people who are going to immediately spend it, I'd be glad to hear. Of course that scenario is no good for me, but I'm not sure that me buying $10k of IBM stock really helps the economy in any noticeable way, whereas a bunch of people buying sandwiches, paying rent, maybe eating out and whatnot sounds like a good thing for the economy, particularly for all those business people who receive the money that used to be my IBM holding.
