People like you and McCain don't understand the differences between the Shias and Sunnis. You don't understand the politics of the region. No, I don't -- and I suspect that you can't fully appreciate the differences unless you have spent a lot of time in the region, which I certainly haven't done. I've done enough reading and met enough Sunnis and Shias to understand the basic dislike they have for each other. Its very much like the Catholics and the Prots. in N. Ireland. Religion is a terrible thing to fight over and it can prolong animosities for centuries. But people are motivated by their common interests, and there ARE common interests. Eventually, this will be resolved -- not to our perfect satisfaction, but a level that can bring peace and a reasonable degree of security to Iraq. That's all that is required. But its not our responsibility to bring this peace. And there is no guarantee how long it will take. The biggest concern is that their next-door neighbor has a terrorist as a president -- one who wants war against the United States. If they can't get rid of him, we may have to. Ideally, the CIA would just kill him. But if that cannot be done, he has to be eliminated some other way. Dude, get it straight......its your president who wanted to start war against Iran. Its your president that began the war drums and name calling. What did you want Iran to do.....rollover and play dead? The Persians are a very, very proud people....for good reason. They are heads and shoulders above their Sunni neighbors. They are producing more male and female doctors, lawyers and engineers than any other country in the ME besides Israel. They are loaded with resources. They are a brilliant people. They should have been our allies but your GOP forefathers managed to screw that one up big time. I grow so tired of you people....you are nothing but trouble for this country. We have a shot at being truly great and you all keep bringing us down to your level. It sickens me to no end.
