I've heard of Linux, but don't know what it is. May I make some comments here? Linux is a freeware version of the Unix OS. Unix comes in several major flavors: AT&T System V, Berkeley BSD, IBM AIX RS6000, etc. The OS GUI includes OSF Motif and OpenLook and supports networking and multiprocessing in a much more secured and rugged environment than Windows NT. Linux is popular to host freeware Web server such as Apache. Linux was developed by Linus Torvalds and many contributors (freeware authors) from the Internet community. Hope it helps.
