"Checking containers coming from overseas, for nukes and many other things, makes sense." What I find interesting is that the Republicans fought these measures for so long. And even not that the legislation has passed, Bush keeps trying to cut it out of the budget. The Democrats have been pushing that containers get scanned before they are shipped to the US. Like Hong Kong does right now. But, the Republicans are acting like they are proposing to pass out cocaine in school hallways. It makes you wonder why they are so opposed to port security.
