Barry, I have no doubts about Intel's long term prospects. However, short term I do not see things so clearly (an unfortunately -fortunately? - this is the way WS sees things).

For example, even though the DEC deal may be advantageous long term, if there was something Intel did not need was more capacity on low margin alpha chip (I am guessing DEC assured itself some great prices not only on the alpha chip but also significant discounts on pentium chips.

In terms of Intel chip prices, they may not be coming down as fast as Charles implies, but possibly Intel will not sell as many of the more expensive ones (i.e., P II) as they thought. The bottom line either way may be substantially lower revenues.

If you and/or any other Intel expert can provide a convincing argument that the stock is cheap at around 75 I will jump in again at this level(today's 75 used to be $150 before split or about 3X the price the last time I went long Intel in the early spring of 96!). My view is that 65-70 seems to be closer to an attractive price to get in is certainly a probable level within the next two months.
