Mike, I've heard there are established local buyers. You are likely to find them associated with the outfitters who serve the local miners.

When these guys hit they are gone the next day. You don't walk around in that part of town with cash in your pockets. And if you did there wouldn't be alot to spend it on. So there are few people around to verify what was found and when.

You have to keep in mind the diamond business has been a part of the economy for hundreds of years. The channels of movement are likely to be deep, swift, and silent.
