C-Cube should post $10M to $12M in DVD decoder chip sales this Q. They have under a 20% share of the player market, and over 30% of the DVD-PC hardware decode market.

All that starts to change in the Summer of 1999, when DVD becomes recordable.

DVD chips are not alike. An OEM must choose one, and build on it. You can't just replace a DVD chip with a chip made by another manufacturer, they all have integrated different features. To change chips, a board needs to be redesigned.
