Headline: V-ONE to Integrate Raptor Eagle Firewall Within DMSGate(TM) Message
Handling Firewall

======================================================================
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- V-ONE Corporation (NASDAQ:VONE),
the leader in client/server smart card-based security, and Raptor Systems,
Inc. (Nasdaq: RAPT), the leader in integrated network security products, today
announced an agreement under which V-ONE will integrate Raptor's Eagle
firewall into the V-ONE DMSGate product. DMSGate is a Message Handling
Firewall designed for the federal government providing a guard-like capability
to support the transmission of messages between network enclaves with
disparate sensitivity levels, utilizing the Department of Defense's Defense
Message System (DMS). DMSGate protects Sensitive-But-Unclassified enclaves
and is being used as an interim solution to protect Secret enclaves within a
DMS pilot program.
V-ONE added DMS capability to its SmartWall(TM) firewall product under the
Firewall Plus program sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA).
Through this agreement, V-ONE will apply that experience to integrate the
Raptor Eagle as an additional firewall alternative within DMSGate's modular
architecture. Raptor's Eagle is an application-level firewall: the most
robust network security technology available today. It runs on Windows NT,
Solaris and HP-UNIX platforms. Acting as a security wall and gateway between
a trusted, internal network and untrustworthy networks such as the Internet,
Eagle offers bi-directional Internet security -- simultaneously prohibiting
unwanted intruders from accessing the internal network while also managing
internal users' Internet access privileges.
DMSGate and V-ONE's SmartGate(TM) allow secure remote administration and
enable X.400 messaging, X.500 directory services, X.509 certificate caching,
and FORTEZZA-based authentication and encryption in compliance with DMS
requirements.
"The modular nature of DMSGate will allow V-ONE to quickly integrate the
Raptor Eagle as an underlying firewall for DMS solutions," said Ken Newcomer,
Vice President and General Manager of V-ONE's Government Systems Division.
"This will give DMS users additional flexibility when choosing a firewall
solution from V-ONE."
"Raptor Eagle uses application proxy technology to securely transmit
existing communication traffic such as SMTP, FTP or Telnet between untrusted
network environments and trusted environments," said Erich Baumgartner, vice
president of North American Sales, Raptor Systems, Inc. "When integrated with
DMSGate, the result will be a completely configurable message firewall system
that gives DMS sites the ability to transition from current communication and
message protocol environments to the X.400 environment -- all while
maintaining compatibility with their site-specific network security policy."
