fundamental error is to hang on to huge losses and ride them out - follow bernie baruch - ride the winners and cut your losses

Hear! Hear!

Treat every day as if you had no money invested. You are all cash. Look at your holdings. Ask yourself for each, if I had this money today, would I invest it in this stock? Is there a better place to put that money?

This is not short term thinking. This is a re-examination of the reason you bought the stock. Were your reasons valid, or have they been proven wrong? Has something fundamentally changed? Is there a better opportunity?

The result is that you will become intolerant of your losers and you will feed the winners. You may trade a bit more often, maybe not after a while, but you will take the emotional attachment away from your decision making. Just cause you thought the stock was a good investment 1 year ago, doesn't mean it still is.

I babble.
