The link you provided represents the worst-case scenario that conveniently ignores the "medically needy" and the 1115 waivers. For example, coverage is greatly extended for pregnant women and children in almost all states.

I know that...but for most male adults, it's a nightmare. Here in Al as in most states, some of these people get crisis care at best...partly because of red tape, partly because the hurdle is absurdly high.

But if you don't make much money and want free care or free medical insurance, it is available.
