Ahahh! Diagnosed my first "Cryx Belly" today. A woman with full blown AIDS, who has been doing pretty well on triple Rx, increasing CD4, who has reactivated CMV retinitis. However, she has been putting on a lot of weight, getting a very "fat" belly. Increasing lipids, and GGTP. Liver, GB , Pancreas US done last week because of the increasing LFTs,only show "Fatty Liver".
She is on Cryx, Zerit and Epivir (had allergy to Viracept).
This type of fat is different than the one in my other patients. Also, she has no "Buffalo Hump".
By the way, when she came to me a year ago from UM, she was dying. |
