EXACTLY! You've nailed it. Yes indeed there are plenty of graphics chip/card companies out there but many of them are invested in completely different sectors providing for completely different applications. 3DFX IMHO is definately a game graphic companny. Of course I am sure that there are other uses for a PC 3D accelerator card but I bet you dollars to donuts that the majority of those say owning a Monster 3D card are using them for games. Whenever games enters the conversation, the product is immediately poo-pooed but the fact remains it's a big business and it's going to grow just as the PC market continues to grow.
