Integrates Micron Technology to Broaden Application of FotoTag Airport System
Exigent International, Inc. (CHX: XNT, XNTWS; OBB:XGNT, XGNTW) today announced its FotoTag, Inc. subsidiary has introduced FotoTag(TM) ActiveTracking Engine(TM). The new system facilitates tracking and control of people and objects in a wide range of environments. The first generation of FotoTag(TM) tracked passengers and their luggage from flight check-in to aircraft boarding. A patent application for the new FotoTag(TM) ActiveTracking Engine(TM) has been filed. This Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 95 and Windows(R) NT based system is user friendly and promotes flexibility and expandability to other application domains. It is capable of performing such diverse functions as passenger/baggage reconciliation and tracking the movement of people and goods in the manufacturing environment. It also shows exceptional promise for financial transaction automation, materials handling control, personnel ID and access control, and retail automation. FotoTag(TM) ActiveTracking Engine(TM) features the integration with Micron Communications' MicroStamp(R) Remote Integrated Circuit (RIC) technology. The MicroStamp is a very small, high-performance, high-frequency, low cost unit based on the MicroStamp integrated circuit. Management was not specific about the potential market for ActiveTracking Engine(TM) but has said the original FotoTag(TM) passenger/baggage reconciliation system alone could have a market potential for thousands of airports worldwide. Exigent International, based in Melbourne, Florida, is a public holding company that currently has two high-tech subsidiaries, Software Technology, Inc. (STI) and Fototag, Inc. STI is the world's leading developer of systems that track and control satellite constellations such as IRIDIUM(R) and Global Positioning System (GPS). FotoTag, Inc. develops systems that track location and movement of people and objects. Micron Communications, Inc. is a subsidiary of Micron Technology, Inc., which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol MU.
