WorldPort names Grivner president, CEO ATLANTA, June 21 (Reuters) - Telecommunications service provider WorldPort Communications Inc. said Monday it had named Carl Grivner president and chief executive, The company said in a statement that Grivner would also serve on WorldPort's board. Mr. Grivner leaves his post as chief executive, western hemisphere, at Cable & Wireless, where he was responsible for business units that contributed in excess of $500 million to Cable & Wireless' operating profits last year and $2.5 billion in revenues. Grivner had been chief executive for the Western Hemisphere at Cable & Wireless Plc . "I'm thrilled to be part of a dynamic company that understands the unique market opportunities that are before us in Europe," says Grivner. "It's an honor to lead such a talented team of industry veterans as we expand our networking footprint in Europe and make it easy for companies and carriers to do business in the world's largest telecom market."
