Interesting article. I think the public fear of SARS has reached a ridiculous level, perhaps largely thanks to the Media's efforts.

Toronto, one of the most heavily affected city, has only less than 150 affected and 23 death because of SARS. Percentage wise, it's about 4 in 100,000 affected and 6 in a million died of the disease in the city(as reports pointed out that other kinds of diseases may have much higher death tolls). While people avoid going to restaurants and other public places these days, I do. The restaurants are so quiet lately, the chance to get SARS are even lower, and you feel more comfortable to sit and eat.

If SARS spreads a lot more quickly and becomes out of control, then it would be a different story. But I guess SARS will be more or less like the Mad cow disease a couple years ago and the problem will be solved after a few more months... I hope so.
