<..Article on Royce Holland...>

Thanks Steven-

I started reading CVUS more regularly ("too much information", but I'm glad it's available) since they seem to be more active in discussing the auction - which is kinda funny since they aren't bidding. I liked your armchair analysis, and think you have a good handle on some ranges.

<..Competitive disputes aside, the biggest remaining barrier Allegiance and other C-LECs face is negotiating and implementing effective OSS arrangements with incumbents, Holland said. Many incumbents still are unable to effectively process competitors' provisioning requests, he said...>

This is my concern for WCII and any CLEC. This was mentioned a number of times at H&Q Comm Symp last week as the biggest obstacle to CLECs. This is why I really want to hear how WCII customers view the service, and wonder if CLEC is getting their customers billed accurately and getting PAID. I understood this was some of the Yahoo discussion. I have to say I haven't even seen the Yahoo board. Anything recent of interest there?

I DO have some concern about both McCaw (although my NXLK is moving up) and Holland as competitors. If MSM is still interested, there may be after auction mergers and alliances which could threaten WCII's market breadth lead, especially if coming from cash rich cos. It seems MSA buildings are getting CLEC crowded, from fiber and T3s to multiple roof antennas.

I look forward to reading any discussion here on the P-MP (to 155Mbps) bandwidth boost advantage, but realize that this LMDS auction offering 1100Mhz of bandwidth which (according to this week's hardcopy Network World) will support speeds up to 1Gbps, steals a lot of this thunder.

And something I realize I presumed, but actually DON'T know (as a ROK engineer asked), is wht the UPSTREAM speeds of a DS3 or OC3 link is. Is it a true symmetrical link?

Any comments?

And come on, someone make some strong bear arguments. NOT hearing them makes me nervous.

If not from the longer term longs here (though I would appreciate that kind of balance), aren't there any of the 4+MM shorts out there that want to shake some of us out?

Thanks

Steve
