hi sr,

two things i can suggest.

one, when you go to the add/remove dialog, click on the 'windows setup' tab. maybe you can uninstall 98 right there.

two, i suggest an uninstaller program in a utility suite like norton. system works uses clean sweep to remove programs. for instance, i have 3 isp's. one is aol. i just removed it last night (i feared that the aol software was corrupt and causing probs). it wasn't removing itself using the windows based add/remove feature, but when i went the norton route, it eliminated every trace of aol. (i then reinstalled aol and it hasn't caused any instability so far.)

those are the only suggestions i have, sr. i've never had to remove an os.

good luck. i look forward to learning what worked for you.

:)
