The more I think about it the more I think Rush and Rev Wright have a lot in common.

This is a very strange remark that JF made.

I've never heard Limbaugh make racist remarks. I've never heard Limbaugh blame America for terrorist attacks against it. I've never heard "hate speech" from Limbaugh. I haven't listened to his show in a long time, but I did listen to him from the time he first had a national program for several years. But I don't believe he has changed in this regard.

There is no similarity, whatsoever, between these two. Furthermore, their audiences are totally different -- while Wright's relationship to his audience is extremely personal, that of a minister, Limbaugh is merely an entertainer, not unlike Howard Stern or Dr. Laura. There is no personal, spiritual relationship between Limbaugh and his listeners. A man who sits in Wright's audience for 20 years -- his entire adult life, has him baptize and indoctrinate his children, etc., is not being entertained -- his entire life is being shaped by it.

A very odd remark, indeed -- one which reflects an inability to distinguish the relative importance of two unrelated events.
