Kerry was very clear on Iraq. The rightwing propaganda and smear artists tried to twist and muddle his words, BS'ing the nation with all those dishonest TV ads. The attempt to paint Kerry as indecisive or weak on defense was entirely dishonest and shameful. He is clearly neither. That ended up doing this country great harm as Bush's no-win non-sensical Iraq policy has stayed in place and we are in a deeper hole than ever. With no light at the end of the tunnel in sight. I predict Iraq will become seen as a lost cause even by conservatives, if it isn't already. Kerry would have changed that for the better. Clearly.
