Perry and Jim, the 1999 revenue picture from Viagra would be clearer as more and more countries have approved Viagra: countries in the EU in late 1998, and many Asian countries in 1999. I'll place my bets on Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong as providing the bulk of sales in Asia. Hong Kong would be the source of blackmarket for China; Japan's and Taiwan's trust in brandname goods would mean that they are less likely to buy the Viagra clones from India; and US$10 isn't such a big deal in all these 3 currencies.

Timeline for Viagra approval according to Asia Week (no mention of China)
Hong Kong Early 1999
Japan 2001
Malaysia Late 1999
Philippines 1999
Singapore 1999
South Korea Late 1999
Taiwan Early 1999
Thailand Approved

P.S. re. the news posting, no sweat at all, glad to be of help.
