McCain's flop on Bush's tax cuts is the worst as far as I'm concerned. I guess he had to do that to satisfy the "far right", but when he was on Charlie Rose a while back he made a point of saying the country can't continue to just pile up debt. I think he's just hiding the "maverick" part of himself to get elected. Our system is really "bent outta shape" when every candidate has to try to appeal to every whacko interest group to get elected.
