In the CC, they said that they had moved experienced operators and equipment to the new factory and had replaced them with new operators and equipment. They knew there would be a "learning curve", but had hoped to make it "transparent to the market". It would have been a tough call to announce this risk in the October CC and worry investors if they were fairly confident that they could pull it off.

They introduced a short-term production level risk to get the new factory going as fast as possible. This shows focus on the long-term objectives of cranking up production and sales to hugely profitable levels and showing truly impressive growth in 1998.

They really had no other choice. If they had not done this, approval for the new factory could have been delayed by months. This is not what we want when the timing of their first big marketing push is so critical.

This whole reduced production thing has been blown out of proportion.
We are talking 25% of a quarter - that's 1/16 of a year's volume at the OLD production levels. This will be noise at the greatly increased production levels when the new factory kicks in.

Follow the smart money - Get it cheap while you can.
