I feel so much better not taking Lipitor.

Good for you. I have mixed feelings about Statins. I tend to agree with Dr Davis that they are the "work of the Devil." But he does prescribe Crestor to his patients when he thinks it necessary.

I have been off Simvastatin for about two months. I decided yesterday to go back on with an "every other day" dose of 20 mg, backed up by CoQ10. I proved to my satisfaction that CoQ10 works for me. I will continue, unless I get side effects, until I have a NMR readout of my LDL. My last calculated LDL in October was 90. That is low, but probably mainly small LDL. The NMR test will tell me for sure. I am waiting to see if I can get the test paid for by Kaiser. If not, I will order it online and get a draw at a local lab.
