Using XP Pro. I am getting certain programs to load at start-up that I don't want. so went to msconfig and the startup tab and unchecked the boxes on those programs (nothing critical -- WordPerfect DAD, for example). But when I reboot, the computer comes up in Selective Startup only, and demands that I go back and recheck those boxes before it will do a normal startup.

In Win 2000 I could uncheck and check the boxes at will, and adjust my start-up with no problem. Why can't I in XP?

I am the administrator and only user, BTW.
