Being a "centrist" does not mean sticking your finger up in the air to figure out which way you should go. Real leadership involves character and principles. It means recognizing that there are many valid viewpoints to consider, yet having to choose between them based on a set list of priorities....

Ultimately, poll-driven leadership never works.



I agree...but I am not sure how we got here. A centrist is typically, though not always, someone with moderate political view points. I am not sure how it maps into poll driven leadership.
