House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband was arrested for driving under the influence in Napa County, Calif., according to news reports. Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested before midnight on Saturday in Napa County and was sent to jail for driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher, according to TMZ which first reported the news. Both are misdemeanor charges. TMZ also reported that his bail was set for $5,000. The news come as Nancy Pelosi was scheduled to receive an honorary degree and give the commencement address at Brown University in Rhode Island on Sunday. Nancy Pelosi has not yet addressed her husband’s arrest. However, her spokesman, Drew Hammill said, “the Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast.” Paul Pelosi is an investor who runs a San Francisco-based venture capital company. The two own a vineyard in Napa Valley. They met at Georgetown University and have been married since 1963.
