I'm pretty sure the words they used in the press release were that they could not continue NORMAL opertions beyond the end of November without additional financing or sale of assets. Laying off workers and idling plants is referred to as REDUCED operations. Airlines, railroads, etc, sometimes operate for YEARS at drastically reduced operations.
