Transferring RRSP monies - I am very interested in the wire transfer technique to open an account with Schwab. Another possibility is to open a new account at Swab and just transfer a specified sum in cash to the new RRSP account. That way you can continue to trade the TD account until the transferred monies appear in the Schwab account. Then if Schwab turns out to be not better, you can transfer back to TD, heavens forbid! If Schab turns out to be ok, then you can transfer the rest of the account. I am sort of getting out of all my positions to consider this.
