Yeah, I am very familiar with that period. My grandfather and his brother moved to Sweden and joined the king's army to escape the famine. The Brits did indeed cause starvation of many in both Ireland and Wales, but ALL the potato plants died, every one. Too many farms had one cow and potatoes as their backup plan. Bad plan.
