In order to have "The Rule of Law," the law must be interpreted and applied to the facts. That's the role of the judicial system, which is hard at work in the case of DOJ vs. Microsoft. The judge isn't making his determination on the basis of nastiness, but on the basis of the evidence, the law, and legal precedent. There's nothing knee-jerk about it; both sides have had ample opportunity to present their cases.

Private property isn't absolute. It interplays with a variety of other legal principles, including antitrust law. Comprende?
