it was Apple that tried to control windows. Pretty funny, actually. AAPL ripped the GUI from PARC. If they had been a little less greedy and a little smarter, they would have ported their OS to the x86 platform a long time ago and would probably now be the dominant software company. Jobs wanted the whole shebang, hardware and proprietary software, kinda like McNealy and SUNW today, despite his "open source" posturing with Solaris and Java. -JB
